The Healing Properties of Delta 8 THC

Delta 8 THC is a powerful relaxant that can help relieve stress, improve concentration and sleep patterns, reduce pain, anxiety, and nausea, and increase appetite. It binds to the CB1 receptor throughout the body, which is part of the endocannabinoid system that helps regulate and maintain homeostasis. A 2004 study found that even low doses of Delta 8 THC stimulated an increase in food intake. In 1995, researchers found that Delta 8 THC had no negative side effects and eliminated nausea in children undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.

Delta 8 THC also binds to CB2 receptors throughout the body, which helps it regulate pain and anxiety. Scientists are studying its neuroprotective properties, which work by inhibiting adenylcyclase and regulating potassium and calcium channels in the central nervous system. In a research project on the antiemetic properties of cannabis, Israeli researchers administered Delta 8 THC to pediatric cancer patients suffering from nausea associated with chemotherapy. The results were a 100% success rate in more than 480 treatments with negligible side effects.

Compared to THC, Delta 8 THC provides similar levels of relaxation and pain relief but with fewer cognitive distortions such as an altered sense of time, short-term memory problems, difficulty concentrating, anxiety, and paranoia. It is also much less likely to cause distressing mental states. Delta 8 THC has strong cancer-fighting properties and is legal in most states. Although there is no specific research on Delta 8 THC as a treatment for opioid addiction yet, there is some hope that certain cannabinoids may be useful in the fight against opioid addiction.

Delta 8 THC has a lower psychotropic potency than delta-9 THC and does not bind to the receptor either. A study on rodents found that those treated with low doses of Delta 8 THC had a more stimulated appetite than those treated with delta-9 THC. CBD is widely known for its medicinal properties, which are used to treat a variety of diseases and health conditions. While we won't know if Delta 8 can help treat opioid addiction until more research is done on the subject, it seems to have close or no negative side effects and offers many benefits of its own.
